Annual Picnic – April 2026

April 18th was our annual spring picnic hosted by Dave and Cheryl Miller in Clyde.  Dave had a wonderful tractor display with his Olivers and Whites with their implements and flags.  Our new club banner was displayed in the yard.  We had a full house with over 90 people in attendance and enough food to feed many more.  As always, the dishes were fabulous, showing all the “good cooks” we have.  Lyn Parker delivered a beautiful prayer, and we ate.  Larry showing off his Oliver spirit in his new Oliver shirt and held a short meeting.  He outlined this summer’s shows with Rick Stair talking about the Wooster show and Melvin Wengerd supporting Larry on our Club Summer Show in Millersburg.

We will be going to Plain City in July to support the Minneapolis Moline show and to Farm Science Review in September.  Mark & Julia Smith will be hosting a Plow Day on October 17th. This is adding up to be a busy summer.  Larry announced our first “Growing O Fund” winner; David Beekman, who will be using his winnings to help restore his great grandfather’s 70.  Congratulations David!  We had a live auction were Larry had Denver Geitgey get up and be the auctioneer which made for fun times,  Mark Smith bought the neon sign and John Gustina the charcuterie board with the new club logo on it.  I showed my new quilt which will be up for auction at the banquet in November.  There were many new faces there making this another great and successful picnic.  Thanks to everyone!
